10 uses for an iSight
Gaming
Yes, You heard me. Gaming.
Forget your Wii, forget your Xbox, forget your checkers. Instead, turn your iSight equipped Mac into a high end gaming machine!
Ok, granted there are only 15 games currently, but they are pretty cool. Check out ToySight Gold and use your iSight to interact with some neat games, including tennis, sky diving and various flying games.
Scanning Documents
Ever needed a copy of a document but had no quick access to a scanner? Think again, skippy. Perhaps you need to send a copy of your drivers license somewhere, or email a copy of an invoice. Not a problem!
Hold your document up to your iSight and take a snapshot. Tada, instant scanner.
Use your OCR software to edit or save your document in other formats. Sure, it isn’t the highest DPI but in a pinch, it will certainly get the job done!
Teaching or tutorials
Another excellent way to use the iSight would be for long distance learning. Using recording software, you could capture a classroom lesson and upload it or burn it to a dvd for viewing at another location.
A good example might be teaching a language lesson using physical objects as examples, or perhaps demonstrating a complex dance or musical routine.
Make people nervous
Nervous? No need to be. If you have an iSight plugged in, you should see yourself looking shocked, but rest assured no one else can see it…it’s all local.
Again, pointless but kinda cool. ![]()
