Even if your phone is not sim unlocked, if you install the 1.1 update, you WILL lose Installer.app and all related apps, files and themes. So weigh your need for new features versus the convenience of apps.

An interesting possible bug I just discovered in the new Amazon MP3 Store.
This morning I launched my browser and after doing some light reading, headed over to Daring Fireball and read the latest by Mr. Gruber regarding the Amazon store. Curious, I popped over and browsed the selection.
I decided, after hearing Mark Ronsons latest featuring Lily Allen, to take the plunge and buy her album.
I forgot, however, that the cookie in Firefox is my ‘work’ info. So I ended up clicking through, downloading the ‘Downloader’ application and purchasing the music on that account (that’s coming out of my …

If you’re OCD like me, you like to keep things separated. This means that music purchased from the new Amazon.com MP3 store need to fit into my system and behave, lest they be punished.

To fix this, open the Downloader, then choose ‘Application/Preferences’. Change the ‘Save downloads to’ entry to ‘iTunes Music’ in your main Music folder (username/Music).

Now when you download music from …

I just can’t stop giving!
Here are 5 more ideas for aspiring iPhone app developers. Again, all i ask is that if you use an idea, you include ‘Concept by BabyGotMac.com’ in your about/documentation section.
1.) Tabbed categories on the home screen – a way to create sections for ‘apps’, ‘games’, utilities’, etc. Click a tab to see the group.
2.) Password gestures – ‘Draw’ a certain pattern on the screen to login to the phone or a site. Doodle to open an app or web page.
3.) Password protect apps – Got sensitive email or bookmarks on your iPhone and don’t want gawkers …
I’m a giving guy. Heck, I give people my opinion all the time without them even having to ask, and I have been known to offer other drivers in traffic advice on how best to reach a specific destination.
So it shouldn’t be a surprise that when I have some ideas I can’t implement, that I give them away…that being said, below are some ideas for iPhone apps I would like to have/see.
If you use one of my ideas, please put ‘Concept by BabyGotMac.com’ somewhere in your credits, will ya’? Oh, and if you make money off it, I’ll take a …
A mere three months into the existence of the iPhone, there have been tremendous advances from the development community that has embraced it.
While Apple has released what can only be called a truly bad-ass device, it’s the hackers and coders who have truly made the iPhone a device worth having.
Here are just a few of the things that you, an iPhone owner, should have on your iPhone.
1.) Installer.app (AppTap) – This program, available from nullriver.com, is easy to install on your iPhone and gives you the capability to download new programs directly from the phone and install/update/uninstall them with …
Amidst all the hubbub this week, including a plethora of new iPods, public relations moves that were strokes of genius and more media coverage than the latest flashing of naughty bits of Britney Lohalton, there is one item conspicuously missing: the 16gb iPhone.
The new ‘Touch’ sports 8gb and 16gb of flash memory, but the poor iPhone is now relegated to a mere 8gb, with the paltry 4gb being neglected, left in a hot car for 8 hours with the windows up, languishing and dying.
So where is the 16gb? Is it coming soon, destined for the holiday season, or is it …
