iPhone School

I wanted to share with my fellow iPhone users a great site that doesn’t get enough love.

Apple iPhone School is constantly updated with mini reviews of new programs for jailbroken iPhones, as well as tutorials for how to make your iPhone run the hundreds of programs, games and utilities available through the Nullriver Installer.

Macbook Air – It’s a good thing

Check out this blog entry about the Macbook Air by none other than Martha Stewart.

It always weirds me out a bit to see a billionaire fashionista type gushing over the same technology I use on a daily basis. Makes me feel all gooey and warm inside, like a cool breeze blowing across a whitewashed porch, bringing with it the scent of lilies and a gentle waft of sea salts.

Also cool, she uses Firefox based on her Dock icons.

We’re moving!

This is just a note to let you, our gentle readers, know that we will switching web hosts over the next 24 hours.

We’ve simply had enough of our current hosts slowness (more like ‘NoDaddy’, am I right? Can I get a witness? No? Oh…) and downtime and have opted to move to another host which is more reliable and with a much better reputation. We encourage you to visit them and learn more if you have your own site also.

The new host is HostGator and you can check the out by clicking the banner below.

iPhone 2.0 – 6 minute video preview

Check out this six minute long video that shows off some of the features of the forthcoming iPhone 2.

Note: turn down your sound, lest you are a fan of what sounds like some 80’s era German speed metal.

Of particular note, Exchange features around 3m, Parental Controls at 4:30 and the Cisco VPN settings around 5:30.

PS: Almost a minute on the freaking calculator, but you don’t tap the damned App Store icon?

Unscheduled downtime

Our apologies for the unscheduled downtime today. Unfortunately, our hosting service had an issue with their database server, which left us down for a few hours…additionally, we have had some issues since coming back up that we are attempting to resolve. Please excuse any errors you may run into today.

St. Clair Software has announced a contest to solicit application ideas for the iPhone and iPod Touch. A 16 GB iPod Touch will be awarded to the person who submits the best suggestion for a new iPhone application.

With the much-anticipated release of the developer SDK for the iPhone, a whole new class of iPhone and iPod Touch applications become possible. In its long history in the Macintosh community, St. Clair Software has seen some of the best ideas for software features come directly from users. We want to give the iPhone community a chance to be heard too….

And yes, it is fully Mac compatible, yay!

The Big Lebowski
The Jerk
Dirty Work
The Usual Suspects

TV:
30 Rock
The Office (US)

Friday Night Lights
Arrested Development

Some oldies but goodies:

Oh, and did I mention the HD collection?
