Best.iPhone.App.Ever – IntelliScreen

http://intelliborn.com/products.html

This is the sort of application I’ve been waiting for since day one. As a former Windows Mobile user, I have missed the ‘Today’ screen a great deal – IntelliScreen looks like it is going to not only fill the missing gap but will add functionality by adding headlines, weather, etc. to the iPhone lock screen.

View Calendar, Email, Text Messages, News, Sports, and Weather from your iPhone “Slide To Unlock” screen
Smooth scrolling across each item to quickly glimpse at your data
Auto-Checks Email when you view the unlock screen – no need to “Refresh” from Mail.app or …

Press Release

Rainer Brockerhoff has announced an update to Quay, a system utility for Mac OS X 10.5 “Leopard”. Quay extends the Dock’s functionality, allowing the user to sort Stack menus in several useful ways, and see extra information for each item.

Quay works transparently with the Dock and uses very few system resources. It follows aliases and symbolic links, and shows popup menus for Smart Folders. The user can restrict it to work only with certain Stacks, or fall back to the standard Dock menu/grid by holding down the Option key.

Native OSX Blackberry support in the works?

Macgasm and Ars are reporting that RIM is posting internal job positions looking for Cocoa develoeprs.

The obvious intent is to create a native OSX capable BB client, but part of me wonders what the chances would be of seeing a server app to sit on top of an xServe. Another way to jab at Microsoft while stealing a little bit of Apples thunder, perhaps?

Yet another ‘Mac in the business world’ article

http://www.businessweek.com/print/magazine/content/08_19/b4083036428429.htm

it amazes me to no end how stupidly stubborn some IT people are. Macs in the enterprise are fully viable and the support require by staff is minimal. These are a few of my favorITe things:
You don’t have to deal with spyware, malware or dll hell.
You can easily backup and restore machine to the users preferred state when necessary.
You can create an encrypted image that will work on every Mac to …
