The first-gen iPod Nano – unsafe at any volume

Do you own a first gen Nano? If so, you might want to check out the Apple support page – especially if it seems to be running hot.
Evidently there is a know acknowledged glitch that can cause them to malfunction slightly, and by that I mean ‘catch on fire and explode’. Nothing major though.
Check out this article on Consumerist, then head over to the support page and see if your serial number jibes up with the first gen production date. if it does, consider giving Apple a call or stopping by to …

Shut up, already!

Let’s start the day with a bit of a rant, shall we?

Been to the App Store lately? Have you clicked an application and decided to read the reviews given for an app before laying down your hard earned cash for it?
Have you been dismayed at the many inane and irrelevant comments that have been posted by people who haven’t even tried the application, but are instead bitching that it should ‘be free’ (don’t get me started on that particular line of idiocy) or that it should have X function instead of Y function?

The Checkpoint Flyer Laptop Briefcase Bihn’s answer to an intensive, five-month design challenge issued by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) to design a laptop bag that meets its newly implemented “checkpoint friendly” program guidelines. …

Five great (and free) iPhone games

I’m not much of a gamer. I don’t have the patience or coordination for games frankly – hell, Tic Tac Toe frustrates me if that is any indicator. However, I do enjoy a nice diversionary game on occasion. Fortunately, my iPhone provides me with several ways to distract myself while standing in line or sitting in traffic (I kid, I kid, sheesh).
Check out some of these great (and free) games. Title links jump to the appropriate page in the iTunes App Store.
