Have you ever created an Entourage distribution group and needed to export it or back up it’s contents? Not so easy, is it? No…in fact, it’s impossible, using standard convention. But you can actually do it without much fuss. Here’s all you need to do:
Open Entourage to your Address Book view:
Highlight/select the Group you need to export, then simply drag it out onto your Desktop, where it shows as a text clipping. You can now drag and drop the data into any file you wish.
Unfortunately, Entourage doesn’t support exporting Groups through any specific commands or actions, but this drag and drop functionality makes this lack of foresight more bearable.
And as a little quickie tip: you can drag pretty much ANYTHING out of Entourage, including mailboxes, for easy archiving.
