Access your Mac from your iPhone (or from anywhere)
Welcome, MacSurfer.com visitors!
Ok, this is pretty cool. iGet Mobile is a program that runs on your Mac and acts as a server. Once it is running and configured (a couple of clicks), you can browse the contents of your Mac from your iPhone. Not only that but you can view, convert and download or email the file directly from your Mac.

Oh, and here’s another cool thing: not only can you access it from your iPhone, but you can use any mobile device with a web browser (or another computer). The screens are formatted for an iPhone, but it works fine on anything else, even Windows.
Here’s the scenario: you’ve gone to lunch and are enjoying a few moments of liquid peace. Suddenly you get a message from the boss asking for your monthly report (which you are certain you’ve already sent in, but evidently haven’t) which he needs for a presentation in 15 minutes. Of course.
In the old days, you tell him that you’ll be back in the office shortly…meaning you cut your lunch short, hurry back to work and hustle to get the file to him.
But no more! Now you can put down your Guinness Coke, and use your iPhone to login to your Mac, sitting back in the office. You browse to your Documents folder, select your monthly report and send the file straight from your Mac. He’s happy, you’re happy and you can continue your lunch, knowing that technology has once again saved your sorry ass.
Check it out today…for a limited time, it is available for only $29.99. Currently it only runs on Leopard.

A few tips from my so far limited use:
Use your local IP when possible. If you’re on the same network, use that internal address as opposed to your external ISP address. Much faster.
To test/view it on the same computer, use https://localhost:55555
