Copy and paste on your iPhone

JustAnotheriPhoneBlog is reporting on an app called ‘iCopy‘ that will allow users to copy and paste, as well as email snippets from within Safari.Icopy2

Read on:

iCopy is the first (that I know of) application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to copy and paste text and URL’s between web pages. You also have the option of emailing copied text or URL’s.

Whoa - a little bit of copy and paste action on the iPhone! iCopy only works within Safari, as you can see from the developer’s description above, but let’s face it - seeing any sort of copy&paste on the iPhone right now makes you stop in your tracks.

And iCopy works fairly well in its first release. You can copy a URL, or a block of text, onto another web page, or into a new email.

iCopy uses a bookmarklet, just like iTransmogrify, which lets you view a lot of Flash content on the iPhone. You save a bookmark for iCopy, then edit it per some simple instructions on the iCopy web-site, and whenever you want to copy something, you call up the bookmark and make easy one tap choices to copy or paste, copy a block of text or a URL, and so on.
