Does your Macbook skip the first letter when typing?

I thought I might be going crazy, but it appears this is a known issue that has been going on for quite some time, as seen in this thread on the Apple Discussion boards.

Essentially what happens is that if you begin to type in a new text field (and it can be anything from a password prompt to a web form to a search field in Spotlight), the first character you type is ignored.

If you have had this happen to you also, let us know, and do as is suggested in the thread above: visit Apples feedback form and make them aware of it!

Refer them back to the thread:

    same problem here.
any text input will produce this issue for me.
glad to find that it's a known issue; thought i was going crazy.
  • I am having this exact problem. Lost first letter when I enter a text box and start typing, I usually look up and it's lost the first letter. Even if I wait a second.

I hope a fix for this is coming in the update. That discussion forum link doesn't work.
  • My PowerBook G4 does skip 1st letter.
    Mostly when waking up. Annoying.
