Fix for Parallels Beta 3120 – Beachball of Death
If you're one of the numerous people who are using the latest beta build of Parallels Desktop for Mac, build 3120, you may have experienced a problem whereby you would be presented by an ever spinning beachball whenever you close an application, or switch windows or scroll or move your mouse or look at your screen.
There is a fix, but it comes with a small cost...
To fix the issue, it is necessary to disable the Parallels Tool Center that runs in Windows. It resides in the taskbar system tray, and monitors several different functions. Two of those functions, unfortunately, are forfeited by disabling the tool center:
*Clipboard synchronization
*Time synchronization
While neither of these are show stoppers, they do cause a bit of inconvenience if you switch back and forth between your OS' frequently and need to exchange clipboard data.
If these sacrifices are bearable for you, here's how to make the change.
