How Much makes Bargain Hunting easier for iPhone users

Windsor, NY/USA - Old Jewel Software is pleased to announce the 1.0 release of How Much, its new bargain shopping application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. How Much lets anyone figure out, in the shortest time possible, the exact price they will pay at the register including sales tax and discounts. Users can enter everything about their bargain purchase in one simple, fast interface, and the final price of their purchase appears at the top of the iPhone screen immediately.

How Much, like all Old Jewel Software products, puts the emphasis on speed and simplicity. There are no extra steps between entering shopping info and getting the final price. Tapping its icon in the Springboard brings up an interface that's ready to receive the original price. As the original price is entered, the top of the screen immediately shows the total price including sales tax. Users can change the number of items being purchased or input a discount price in 2 taps. For situations where more than one discount may apply to a single item, a second discount field is available. This speedy input can be seen by watching the example video.

Because most of the time a user will pay the same sales tax, How Much remembers sales tax from one use to another. This way, simply opening the app and entering a dollar amount will immediately give the total price with tax.

As people try to make their dollars go farther, bargain hunting is regaining popularity. More people are learning to shop in discount bins, use coupons, or time their purchases to seasonal sales. It's useful in these situations to be able to predict, before getting to the register, exactly how much a discounted item will cost.
