iPhone Exchange update

Can anyone expound upon this yet? I'm wondering if these are simple IMAP presets or actual 'push'.

Whenever you click on the Exchange tab, it says that IMAP support needs to be enabled for it to work.

According to a blog I read (I think it was tuaw.com) it will work via ActiveSync. I have no idea how Exchange works, so I actually don't know what that means. :/
