Greetings, friend! Looks like this is your first time here. As such, we encourage you to subscribe to our site via RSS feed or by email so you can get updates as they happen. Thanks for stopping by!
While not exactly a Mac topic, I wanted to pass along a link that is pretty important for those of us who love us some technology. http://laptopgiving.org/ ![]()
Until November 26th, the Laptop.org Foundation is offering the XO laptop to members of the general public (in the US and Canada). When you purchase one of the laptops, another will be donated to a child living in the third world who is part of the growing cause to provide technology to those who desire to learn it.
The cost is $399, which is pretty good for two laptops that run Linux, have built-in wireless, cameras, speakers and can be charged by a hand crank. This isn’t a LeapFrog - this is an actual computer running Linux with full Office compatibility and an array of useful software.
Not to mention the laptops are cute and you can deduct $200 of the cost as a charitable donation. So instead of buying your kid an XBox this Christmas, how about buying them (and another child) a laptop that can teach them how to create, learn and inspire?
