I was checking out the server stats for BabyGotMac today, and found some surprising stuff in there. As you may be aware, the site runs Wordpress. Well, I’ve been using a plugin called ‘FireStats‘, which runs ok and keeps good live stats, but it isn’t so awesome for historical data. Countered with the fact that over the summer I made a change and forgot to put Google Analytics code back into the sites header and well — I had no idea of our actual accrued traffic. Until today.
We went live in the first week of January 2007, with some screenshots from Leopard (which was in beta at the time, obviously) and had a tremendous kick-off (which made it hard to watch the numbers slow as the year went by). But all told, as of today we’ve had over 7 million requests and over half a million unique visitors.
Not too shabby for zero budget and no external advertising, eh?

Not surprisingly, the top OS to visit the site? OS X, yep.

The most popular browser used to visit BGM is FireFox, closely followed by Safari, then IE and somehow, oddly enough, BitTorrent:

Our most visited day? Thursday (although Wednesday almost caught up last week). What’s up with that?

Yeah yeah, I know — no one cares but me. But thanks to everyone that’s stopped by and kept coming back. I appreciate it, and it makes me determined to keep plugging away.
