Suck it, SalesForce.com

Greetings, friend! Looks like this is your first time here. As such, we encourage you to subscribe to our site via RSS feed or by email so you can get updates as they happen. Thanks for stopping by!

You think you’re SOOOOOOOOO big, what with your free iPhone app and your reasonable rates with excellent reliability and constant innovation in your infrastructure.

You aren’t jack compared to Microsoft CMS, and you CERTAINLY aren’t so good that you can charge $449 for a crappy looking iPhone app to sync (maybe) with your databases.

Amateurs.

Interesting post -- but Salesforce for the iPhone is FREE to users of Salesforce that have mobile. They are working on figuring out how to communicate this to prevent some of the confusion around the app.

Here are the requirements for the app you linked to -- which isn't Salesforce Mobile for the iPhone, but something for SAP. Looks like more on-premise BS and installation headaches to me. Salesforce is 100% hosted, processes 150 million transactions per day with an average response time of less than 300 ms. Getting Salesforce on the iPhone takes about a minute -- with none of the requirements for the MyAccountsToGo app.

That being said, I do like the interface of the MyAccountsToGo.

MyAccountsToGo requires the full cooperation and support of your IT Department for installation. The following components are required:

•Microsoft SQL Server (Version 2005 or higher)

•Internet accessible password-protected FTP, HTTP or HTTPS website

•Scheduled SQL Queries using DTS or other Tools on the SQL Server

•Resulting XML data files have to be moved to website for iPhone access

•If multiple iPhone Users are deployed, multiple secured web directories have to be created on web site

SQL Queries to generated XML data-files are provided to MyAccountsToGo users free of charge. Mapping alterations to modify the information visible to iPhone users can be performed by the IT Management team.
