SWsoft, who has been in the virtualization game for years, has decided to capitalize on the success of their Desktop application and rename their entire company simply ‘Parallels’.
On the SWsoft, err, Parallels blog, Ben Rudolph likened the change to that of other products who have become identified by a single name, i.e. Google, Kleenex and Madonna. Ok, not Madonna, but kinda…
The change does, mostly, make sense in that most everyone I know who discusses the product doesn’t say SWsoft, but Parallels. The same goes for VMWare though…
