Secret Folder ‘08 released by Apimac

Press release from PRMac.com:
Apimac announced today the release of Secret Folder ‘08, the latest release of its shareware utility made to conceal folders and files under Mac OS X. Apimac Secret Folder is a Mac OS X program that provides an easy and fast way to protect personal documents and avoid them being seen, modified, or erased by other users. It allows users to hide folders and their contents. Files and folders can be added by means of a single click on a choose dialog box or via drag and drop. The application is simple to use and can be protected with a password.

This program uses the standard functionality of the operating system to make folders and files invisible and it’s very useful to keep information away from prying eyes or kids who may accidentally modify or delete personal files. For users that need more advanced levels for protecting data, there are other ways as protecting information on removable media (as creating encrypted disk images) or using Mac OS X FileVault.

Among the other changes, new to the ‘08 release is a new user interface making the application more intuitive and easy to use; new options to make visible all the listed items at launch and make invisible all the listed items at quit; new option to make visible an item by double-clickin on it on the item list and various code optimizations.
