Wanted: iPhone app ideas!

i have an idea for for an app that app could choose a
ring tone from your music libery and then you choose weeks or months it changes your ring tone.because it does me nut in having to change me ringe tone or keep on listernig to the same ringtone

I've come up wth great app idea - the clapper for the i-phone. When you can't find your phone, "clap-clap", and it starts ringing.

Do you know the "Magnifying Glass" App will why not make one the reads the page or object like a Nintendo DS game in Japanese and by Using this App you can translate a foreign text. Basically as you scan with Iphone it finds translation, but if user doesn't know what type of language the text comes from then there will be an auto detection feature and translations can be stored on Iphone making it much better than old fashion translators.

I'm a mom, and the most useful app for me (and most other moms)would be an app that saves me money. First this app would allows you to key in all grocery type products (maybe pulls from a huge database of products/brand names) you use on a weekly/monthly bases. Then second pulls your location and all stores close to you (allowing you to save favorite stores and select desired distance of travel). Third (which is the money making part of the app) on a daily bases, pulls all grocery ads and matches your product lists with the closest/best deals for each product and lists items per store. So you go to one store for the best deals on these ten products and another store for these 5 products and so on. Also, it would be awesome to have a built in coupon finder (local and specific store coupons), maybe even use the new 'mobile coupon' idea that is being developed today. I think if someone designed this correctly it could make very good money!! Might be a good means of advertising for stores too (more in coming revenue) Let me know if this app is ever developed! Every mother I mention this too would love to use it!

ok ave you ever wanted to play to music without the other instrument ? So say you want to play to blink 182 on the drums this app will get rid of travis barker playing drums so it's just the vocals bass and guitar! And you can do it the other way round and you can do it with more than one instrument!
And do we get the money for the app if it is created?

An ap for capo placement on a guitar. Probably using the wheels. You would spin the first wheel to the key the song is played in. The second wheel to the key YOU want to play in, the result would be the number of the fret to place the capo on. For instance. The Song is in Key of D ... turn first wheel to D. You want to play in "C", turn the second wheel to C ... then you'll need a "result" ... in this case the result would be 2. Since you place the capo on the second fret to play in the key of C for a song playing in D. Search ebay for Shlub Capo slide rule, you'll see how it works.

My wife is always misplacing her phone, and we have to dial her number and make it ring in order to find it. My idea is to create a "Clapper" app so that you can clap twice (like the original "Clapper") and your phone would start ringing until you found it and pushed a button to make it stop.
What do you think? Is this idea a money maker?

Apple has already banned several of these apps due to the offensive nature of them. The ones that are approved are similar to what your asking (aka voodo dolls or dummies) which people can torment to their enjoyment. Although any racial discrimination or political disenfranchisement would result in the app getting banned.

They should make a punching people game like punch bin laden but make it a bit different and theres loads of different things to hit different people with so like a baseball bat, chainsaw, computer, tv, throw a cricket ball at them maybe, piss on them in their eye socket experiment realy and different kind of people like gingers fat people. You could also add bin laden and also gordon brown etc. Just people that piss everyone off

I have 2 idea's for app's, one is not very realistic and the other something that may come on handy. My first idear is more of a gadget that you would need an application for and it would be to install an alcohol breathaliser test onto your mobile phone so you would know if your over the alcohol limit to drive.... obviously i know that this would take a lot of technology and like i said not very realistic. My other app idear would be to have a cocktail list where by you could choose maybe 2 different alcoholic spirits with 1 or 2 mixers and a list of cocktails would be produced that you could try. See what you think.

I want to see an app that enables one to turn a paper form into a form one can fill out on the iPhone. I guess one would have to scan or photograph the form and upload it to a website and tweak it there to customize the fields (bullet points, expandable text fields, multiple choice, etc.) Then one could call up specific forms on the iPhone and fill in those fields and have the form updated on the website, like Evernote does with my notes. Finished forms could be e-mailed. Seems like Evernote might have the technology to do this. Evernote is my most used serious application on my phone.
I work for a small and always broke agency that could never afford to set us agents in the field up with electronic input devices. I use my iPhone to take notes, but these notes need to go on a form specific to my agency, so I must print the notes and try to make them fit the paper forms. I would love to be able to fill out these forms in my phone and then e-mail the finished product right to the agency.

Every wanted to hangup the phone without being rude? Well with this idea you can. my idea is that while your on the phone you really don't want to be talking to, you open the app and the phone call will start cutting out and going fuzzy, your chose on which one. Or one can be of a cop siren going off. Too sum it all up, you get off the phone without being mean to the person

I want an app that will filter out all the songs in my ipod that are inappropriate to play at my workplace or to my grandparents for example, without me having to go through it one by one. you should be able to put on different settings for like swear-words, adult-content, screamo/metal music and quickly find the right playlist for the people you're with.

TV shows such as America's Funniest Videos have audience voting. A voting app would show the videos of the candidates and allow voting or ranking.

The app would be sold to the TV shows and would be offered for free to the user.

An app for helping you sleep! Imagine background noises like birds and trees blowing in the wind. There is a gate at the front of the app, with a sheep next to it, every time you click the sheep to allow it to jump the gate with a little "baa", and a number show up next to it, (1, then 2, then 3 etc) to then be replaced by another sheep as it leaves the screen.

Try SleepMachine Lite. It has a timer and several relaxing sounds to choose from. I use it regularly.

Bulletin board- an app that you write notes just like notes on a bulletin board and looks exactly the same.

A day by day "Give it Up" calendar to help people give up anything. Starting at 1 then on to 2, 3 etc. One big red number shows each day. Factor in how much you spend on (cigarettes/ alcohol/chocolate etc) get a rewards account tally every few days. The app. should ideally pop up without needing to be opened each day, and give congratulations

Hey, I have the best idea for the app store ever! it would simply be a network similar to that of facebook or myspace, however be made spacifically for bands. i wish for an app where you can see a band, its members, sample their music/videos. However NOT professional bands as in already famous more like garage bands (from teens) I myself am 16 and the bassist for a band. also this app could provide very easy acess for finding gigs and such occasions, where a place that needs a spacific kind of band to play on a date could post an add with all their info. This app I know I would buy, no matter the cost. so the faster it could be made the better!

not sure exactly if something like this exists but the ability to block calls from groups of contacts would be great so when i am at work i can block calls from friends or the other way round.

It would be nice to have an app like TextSoap for the Mac. Something that you can modify the contents of your clipboard in many different ways such as changing the case of the text, performing a find and replace, extract URLs, and other types of text management.

I am looking for an app that will pick up the phone and, depending on who is calling and preferably with an easily editable time schedule, give a specific voicemail greeting. That way I could for example tell the customers that are forwarded from my work phone, that their call can not be taken right now, while my friends can get a mssg that tells them where I am, or that they can reach me via ichat.
A time schedule would also make it possible to tell people we're closed when they call in weekends or nights, while they might get another greeting telling them to try again in a minute or try a different number at times when I should have picked up the phone.

I'm looking for a simple application that would allow you to see your Photo Album as file names, instead of the image thumbnails on the iPot Touch. I work in the medical field and have several x-rays I need to look at each day. The patient's name is the image file-name. So, I can see 50 chest x-ray thumbnails but have no clue who the patient is. Ideally the program would allow browsing by file name (list) within each album, and would have an option for the file name to display at the bottom of each image as you browse through in slideshow mode.

It takes all your contacts, look for their addresses and drops them on a map. You can also track every visit you make to anywhere you go. You can even add your current location, set a visit to it, and RATE the experience!

dPlaces allows you to not only mark the places you go, but also RATE them (level of service, access, etc).

I'd like to see an app that allows mulitple greetings for voicemail to be stored and filed for reoccurring use. Also custom voice mail greetings for seasonal holiday time. Custom voice mail when out of town or out limited serivices. Could be human voices owner voices or paid vices reading prepared text.

I would like to see a recording app for the iPhone 3g that not only let's you monitor the volume of the recording as you make it, but also let's you adjust the recording volume. I have searched all over for an app that does this with no luck. Is this a hardware limitation? Can anyone help?

the Catergories Work, Travel1, Town, etc are actual waypoints or a range of waypoints, that enable the app to trigger a sound when you reach that particular location.

Todo notes can be text or a link to a voice recording. When alerted by the TODO list, you acknowledge and it displays the list, and plays any prerecorded notes.

The notes can also have a time tag on them so that they only get triggered during certain hours of the day or week.

eg Travel1 can bring up multiple diff lists if day or night, traveling to or from work, weekend or workday, etc.

Notes could also have an actual alarm if needed to be performed at or before a certain time.



The app could be implemented as a plugin for other applications...

I would like to have an app that gives me all of the bar specials on a map. It would use the GPS to find the closest bar with the best deals.

I'd love to see an app that can used at festivals like Electric picnic, it would show event timetables, location of tents, you could calc route, could show medic unit, police help, band comments etc etc. There is loads that could be included in this app and it may get some good coverage with the festival go-er, like me. :D

A great iphone app would be that of either one in which a photo of someone could be merged with that of a celeb, this would be ideal for the social networking which is now available to everyone on the planet.
Also there could be an app which release's unofficial iphone news and rumours, ideal for the realese data of new Software and Hardware, many many people would log onto somethiing like that, including myself.
That would be very useful come JUNE 2010.

I have an idea that will make everyone want to swich to iPhone. Trust me. 90% of iPhone owners would want to have it. It's money saver. And it will take care of lot of people's headaches.
But I won't spoil the idea unless I can be compensated appropriately.

I would love to see the iPhone work more seamlessly with my mac. Not sure if it's possible but how cool would it be to be able to click on a number on a contact or on a web site from you mac and have your phone start calling it, or when your iPhone rings all the way across the room a pop up comes up and tells you who is calling. Or if there was some iTunes proximity control. I have a mac mini for my media center and would love it if when I left my apartment the mini would pause iTunes because the iPhone was out of wifi or bluetooth range. Or if I get a call on my iPhone iTunes would pause. And actually there is an app that does this for some other phones called Remeo. I would love to see that concept taken to the next level for the iPhone.

This is already available with other bluetooth enabled phone... just not Apple's go figure!

I would REALLY like to see a modern adaptation of Spy vs. Spy. I think there could be a lot done with the features the iPhone/touch have. Good luck!

There are some Countries, where kidnapping happens too often, and these criminals then check victim's cell phones for new victims. No problem, you can block your phone right ? but if you're kidnapped, they may force you to provide them the unblock password. I think there should be a way to introduce an alternative password that would enable a fully blank environment with no contacts, no emails and no recent phone calls. This way, anyone in case of an emergency could give out this password and not compromise friends, relatives or any one else who may be stored on their cellphone.

An AE lock for iphone camera please! Shooting a person against bright background and he/she becomes a sillouette? Use the aperture lock! Shooting something on bright white wall and it goes dark? Use the aperture lock!

I would like to see an app where with the gps and frequency detection and alarm sounds in the phone, you put the phone on the dash of your car and it becomes a radar detector.

I am looking for a photorating app that let's me rate my aperture library and let's those ratings be seen next time I sync with my Aperture library. Perhaps even makes a new album (iphone selection), tagging would be nice too, perhaps by double tapping followed by a gesture or direction for basic quick tagging.

There is computer game that I think would be a great app it's name is bowman and the point of it is to hit the other person with a bow arow you have to pull back and release the arow and the first person to hit the enemy three times wins. I don't tell me what you think. I think it would be a great app.

There are many business executives that cannot get into their outlook mail. The Microsft exchange is great but many IT Admins will not allow due to security concerns. So for many of us former Blackberry folks used to real time e-mail we are stuck with getting outlook mail via Microsoft Web Access via Safari.

What is needed is a Microsoft Web Access App this would allow real time e-mail through the web without the perceived secuirty concerns.

Love to see a new App created for the Iphone which permits you to use the Anglers Almanac currently available in all good fishing stores. An electronic version which compensates for actual geographical location would be awesome. Someone smart out there must be able to make this work.

I think this would be a hugely popular app: An app that creates a mosaic based on the photo of your choosing, comprised of a bunch of images of your choosing, either from Camera Roll or Google photos, etc. In other words, you start with a picture, say a photo of yourself. Then you show the app where a bunch of your other images are. Then the app uses these images to recreate the photo of yourself, matching the colors of the images to the photo, and making a personalized mosaic. How awesome would that be?

I think I have a winner! I named it ”iFall.” It is for Personal Safety. Targeting the energetic and or the elderly iPhone users. The app could text, email or call an emergency contact of your choice should you become unconscious from injury, heart attack or assault. I would like an app that calculates the efficiency of a basketball player. The user would keep stats for their son/daughter during the game. As stats are entered, by tapping a button, the efficiency is updated.

I have created a html file that does this but would like to see it done as an app.

I'd like to see an app that would allow the user to delete ALL downloaded email within an account. (Yeah, there's a way to do it by using IMAP rather than POP3, but it's clunky, and not useful for the average user).

Anyone who receives hundreds of emails would go for this app in a heartbeat.

A Pokedex app! This would be huge! I'd pay for it. It's practically just an advertisement though but it would still be kinda fun.

This would be amazingly easy and probably a huge success... You make 12 apps, and basically someone would download each app and use it for one of their pages on the iphone, and each app you can assign a pic, and then you can assign a number, basically making your "favorites" as people to click, and you can have up to 12 and would just be another little section on the iphone.

How about an application that allows you to tag your Aperture pictures you've got on the iPhone in a handy way, and later syncs back those tags into Aperture?

That way you can kill time by tagging some pictures, without having to spend time in fornt of a monitor doing this dull task.

Givin the graphic and accelerometer capabilities of the iPhone/touch I wild love to see someone design a tricorder just another crazy way to impress your friends without one.

Hey. I have two ideas;

1. Alarm clock app that wakes you up with a random song from your library. And for the ones who just can't get up in the morning, you can turn on an option. If you have this turned on, you have to shake the phone until it stops playing.

2. App that makes the volume buttons to camera button when you are taking photos. Would much easier to hold the camera straight while taking photos.

There needs to be a geocaching application that can look up where you are (should be easy to do this with locate me). It should then go to the geocaching.com website and download a list of what geocaches are nearby, and put them on a google map with an option of picking one by touching it, and then it will bring up the cache page listing in Safari with the ability to switch back and forth between the info on the cache page, and a live (where you are) GPS locating page which will use the coordinates from the cache info page in comparison to where you are to tell you how far, and in what direction (compass).. or at least compare them on the screen if a compass isn't doable. Trimble has a caching program out for other phones but no plans have been announced with regards to the iPhone. So far my research indicates there are no iPhone geocaching apps. There needs to be one, it's very important to hundreds of thousands of geocachers out there who may have an iPhone already or are considering buying one. Call it a purchase decision maker...
