Is that a Leopard in your pocket?

Alternate title: what’s in YOUR wallet?

As one of the suckers with a Capital One card, I took interest in their offer of a card with a custom image as the background. While I considered the logo of BGM (as well as a panorama of the inside of my kidneys, taken from an old xray), I was pleased to see how well my final decision turned out. Although I guess I could have used Taco Bell too…hmm.

As you may recall the image on the card below was/is a quite popular download from our site. Again, I don’t recall where it originally came from, but will gladly update my references when I find out.

Anyway, I had to flip the image to avoid the CO logo covering it, but I think this turned out pretty well. And yes, I blurred out the info so no one charges a dozen Macbook Airs to my card. :(
The scan, despite my best (if somewhat lackluster) efforts, doesn’t do it justice:

Exclusive Interview with Guy Kawasaki

Former Apple Evangelist Guy Kawasaki offers his thoughts on the Macbook Air, the blogosphere, and talks about his new online venture, Alltop. Having spent over 25 years in Silicon Valley, Guy Kawasaki has seen a lot of trends come and go. He was in on the ground floor of the launch of the original Macintosh, and went on to have a successful career in venture capital with Garage Ventures.

Now he’s launching a new single page aggregation website called alltop.com. Guy has given an exclusive interview to The Digital Lifestyle. Guy gives his thoughts on the MacBook Air (he’s not a big fan), the blogosphere, the state of venture capital, and his new website.

In the 13 minute multimedia interview, Guy speaks frankly on the trends in technology, and the reality of just how much (or little) influence bloggers have in the real world.

The interview is available immediately from The Digital Lifestyle homepage.

iPhone jailbreak/unlock for all versions - instructions within!

I won’t bore you with rehashing the same old stuff from every other site on the web, but I will tell you how to use this on your Mac.

Here are the command line switches available in the app. Below that: how to use them. Enjoy!

CAVEAT: Not my issue of you break something, seriously. Pay attention, follow the instructions here and on the developers site and you should be fine!

ZiPhone v1.0 by Zibri. http://zibree.blogspot.com
Source code available at: http://www.iphone-elite.org

Usage: ziphone [-u] [-a] [-j] [-i imei]
-u: Unlock (Only for 4.6 BL)
                -a: Activate
                -j: Jailbreak
-i: Change imei (Only for 4.6 BL)
                -v: Verbose boot (debug)
                -e: iErase BL 3.9 baseband
  • Connect your iPhone
  • Download the file from the authors Google code site: http://iphone-elite.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ZiPhone.zip.
  • Unzip the file, for instance, to your Destop. You should have a folder called ZiPhone.Picture 3
  • Open ‘Terminal.app’ - (Applications/Utilities).
  • Type the following (again, assuming you unzipped to the Desktop):
    cd ~/Desktop/ZiPhone

    .

  • Hit Return.
  • If you ONLY WANT TO JAILBREAK (meaning you want to run 3rd party apps), type
    ./ziphone -j
  • If you WANT TO UNLOCK (meaning you want to use the iphone on another provider), type
    ./ziphone -u
  • If you WANT TO ACTIVATE (meaning you can actually use the iPhone with another provider), type
    ./ziphone -a
  • You will be prompted to put the iPhone in ‘recovery mode’. To do so, hold down the power switch (on tope of the iphone) for a few seconds, then slide the red slider to the right to shut down.
  • After the iphone is off, unplug it from your computer. Hold down the ‘Home’ button (you know, the one button that does stuff on the iPhone…). Keep holding it down, while at the same time plugging it back into your computer. KEEP HOLDING IT DOWN! Don’t let go until the Terminal screen message changes to ‘Please wait 45″..
  • After your iPhone comes back up, you should see the fruits of your labor. In our case, it meant having Installer back, and thusly the glorious iSlots. Hooray!

Please note: these instructions are not intended to be actual support. They are the steps used by me and me only. If it breaks your iPhone, Im sorry. it shouldn’t, but again - it’s not my fault if it does!
