A nice workaround to the AT&T MMS problem

As documented elsewhere on this very site, the solution AT&T provides to iPhone users who receive MMS messages is a kludge of epic proportions.
However, an enterprising programmer has whipped up a way to make it a little less crappy, although not necessarily less convenient. The good news is, no more flash based authentication with limited support for saving or viewing your files. The bad news is that you still need to type in the codes AT&T sends you.

getyourmms is the site, and probably the best feature it has …

AT&T launches their latest incompetent iPhone feature

As promised way back when, AT&T has finally fulfilled their agreement to provide iPhone users with free WiFi access via their hotspots.

Sadly, as with the MMS ‘feature’ provided to their users, AT&T has made the process so complicated and recursively stupid as to be unusable.

Want to get online with AT&T WiFi? Here’s how:
* Activate Wi-Fi from the settings icon on your iPhone
* Select “attwifi” from the list of available networks
* Enter your 10-digit mobile number and check the box to agree to the Acceptable …

Tether your 3g iPhone data connection via App Store

No, wait, nevermind.
For a little while Thursday night, the holy grail of iPhone users was found. A program from NullRiver (makers of Tuner and numerous other amazing stuff), had an app called ‘NetShare’ in the iTunes US Store.
“Share your iPhone’s EDGE or 3G Internet connection with your computer using NetShare. NetShare provides a SOCKS5 proxy for your computer to connect to.”
Priced at $9.99, the app would have been a good deal for anyone who hasn’t jailbroken their iPhone already – aside from the fact that AT&T would likely have busted the proverbial cap of overcharging in ones financial …

$250 iPhones are back!

UPDATE:
This time around, 16gb iPhones are available for only $349. Not too shabby!

AppleiPhoneSchool is reporting that AT&T will have iPhones on sale from Wednesday the 14th through Friday the 16th.

These are refurbed units, but are complete with one year warranties. A two year contract is generally required.
Recommendation: visit www.attwireless.com as quickly as possible, as these *will* go fast.

AT&T earns nearly a billion dollars based on iPhone sales

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aKVuYz_4higA&refer=usiphone

AT&T Inc., the biggest U.S. telephone company, said first-quarter profit rose 22 percent on sales of Apple Inc.’s iPhone and savings from a plan to cut 10,000 jobs after its 2006 purchase of BellSouth Corp.
Holy crap. That’s alot of iPhones – and fired people. :(

Rant: AT&T , MMS, iPhone & ‘viewmymessage.com’

Dear AT&T/Apple,
For the love of all that’s holy – please fix this crappy, amateur hour, seemingly hard to screw-up service!

For those of you not in the know, the iPhone doesn’t natively support MMS messages, meaning that if someone sends a photo or sound file to your phone number it doesn’t come in like a normal text message or email.

Try MMS Buddy!

Aside from the fact that it’s a sorely missed feature that is available on the most poorly constructed and thought out handsets (hey Moto…’sup?), it is made even more insulting …
